Choosing books by edition

I will be going into senior year next year and considering getting a head start on AP calculus, chem and physics. I know I won't be able to get that far but just a brief overview of what is to come, as I will be taking all three of these courses in school next year.

I have done some research on prep books and came to the understanding that the 2014 prep books aren't out yet. (at least for Princeton Review) I know Chemistry is changing so I would have to wait for a new edition, but for other subjects, is it better to wait for and buy the new edition or will the older 2013 edition do fine?

I'm considering Barron's for calculus and chemistry, Princeton Review for physics B. Does anybody know when the new 2014 edition will be out?

Thanks.

Barrons for calculus is excellent. I used it myself this past year and I’m pretty sure I got a 5 with it. For chemistry, wait for the 2014 books. I heard they come out beginning of each calender year? Not for sure though. Physics, I can’t help you out there sorry.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I’ll wait for chemistry and get the physics book now as there doesn’t seem to be any changes to the course syllabus.

5 Steps to a 5 for AP Chem will be out on July 12th.

Its only worth buying based on edition if the exam changed.

So I suppose others will be out around then too? Maybe I’ll contact the publishers by email.

Definitely. Waiting for Barron’s AP Chemistry.
