I can't go to orientation and I am incoming freshman. I am undeclared currently in the college of letters and science but I am strongly thinking about becoming a econ/accounting major.

I WANT TO TAKE MY FIRST QUARTER VERY EASY. I just want to get some general ed requirements out of the way and take it very easy first quarter so I can get adjusted. I mean very easy.

I am so confused which classes I need what to take and what is easy. This is all so overwhelming for me.

Does anyone have course suggestions for me or a suggsted schedule that they took that was good? Please help.

From there, log onto gold, and under “Find Courses” click the “Switch to Advanced Search” Button. Make sure the quarter is “Fall 2012” and under the “Area” category at the bottom choose whichever area you still need classes for. You’ll receive all the classes that are offered this quarter for that area. Classes number 1-99 are underclassmen classes, which are generally the easiest. Find 12-12 units worth of classes (3 classes or so) that interest you, fulfill GE’s, and do not have conflicting schedules. To find out how easy/hard classes are, look up the professor on ratemyprofessor.com, and you should get a pretty good idea.

If you have any more questions, let me know! :)

First off you should sign up for 3-4 classes your first quarter (about 12-15 units). Since you are an econ major you should definitely take a math class. Sign up for either math the math 3A or 34A ( you have to look up which one is required for econ majors).
For general ed you could sign up for a writing class if you don’t already have AP credit. You can sign up for writing 1 or 2 depending on what you got on the placement test. Just sign up for classes that sound interesting and fulfill requirements. It doesn’t really matter if it has anything to do with your major. When I was at orientation, one of the upperclassmen said that Psy 1 or Soc 1 are good easy classes for your first quarter. Both of those classes count for the social sciences requirement. You can also sign up for an art history class to fulfill the fine arts requirement, a history class for the history requirement etc…
