My orientation is coming up on the 13th and I was wondering whether I should start thinking about what classes I’m going to take. I know I need to take a bunch of requirement courses for the pre med track, my major (neuroscience), and med school but should I start planning it out? I don’t even know where I can find the list of course selections! Also, does anyone know how the whole course selection thing goes when you get there? Do they just put you on a labtop and make you choose or what?
I think a lot of people will have little if anything to choose for first semester. You will be pre-seeded in your required courses, which will likely be intro bio, Chem, psych, Calc, English. If you have AP credit or otherwise end up with a free spot, you can either move into the next class in the sequence or take a gen ed class or something for a minor. But I don’t suspect youll have more than 1 class to really choose. You’ll meet with your advisor to do the course selection, if things haven’t changed. Your best bet to check out courses and requirements is the University registrar’s office website. They have the course handbook and the schedule of classes for the fall semester that you can look through.
You’re right I didn’t have any choice in the classes for my first semester. It was just the basic requirement classes which I’m fine with. Thanks for the help!
