How can I find out who the best professors are?

as with all things user-submitted, take the reviews with a grain of salt. but in my experience, consistent reviews are reasonable indicators of what a professor is like. and using it can't be much worse than choosing a professor without any such knowledge.

and as an entering freshman, it'll be hard to get those word-of-mouth reviews, but eventually as you go on, you'll find that that's another good way of getting an idea of what a professor is like. the course evaluations aren't bad in myUSC, but some of the criteria are kinda trivial, like "How well did the professor articulate the course goals?" that and as of right now, there are only evaluations up to Spring 2004, so a lot of professors/classes aren't on there.
