choosing classes

are there any helpful websites for me to rate ucla professors?

I looked at ratemyprofessors.com, but the max number of ratings is like... 19... is there another more helpful website or any other means to see professor ratings before actually choosing the classes?

thanks.

bruinwalk.com

bruinwalk.com is the best.

Thanks! :)

When i go to bruinwalk.com, i keep getting transferred to the page that says:
There is a problem with this website's security certificate. when i click on the professors' names... does anyone know why that happens?

Try lowering your security ratings in your browser under preferences.

I must warn you, however, about using those types of sites to choose a professor. They are statistically VERY poor measures of professor quality.

I get that problem too but I just click "continue" and it takes me to the right place. I'm using firefox 2.0

I second UCLAri's post. Typically the students that actually rate the professors on those types of sites, are the ones that either REALLY enjoyed the class and professor or those that REALLY, REALLY hated the class and professor... so be careful... many professors aren't as bad as their ratings say they are (except for Biskup [math professor]... his rating are COMPLETELY true)

those sites are most helpful in determining how much work the course involves. don't listen to comments like "omfg i had NO time to do ALL TEH WORK"... but people might say, yah, there's a quiz every session so if you keep on top of things you'll be ok. or they might say that the tests don't always line up with the lectures. and if they say the professor has a thick accent that interferes with student understanding, heed that warning!!!
just take everything with a grain of salt, and then it's a useful tool.

bruinwalk will help sometimes, especially for GE's.

Good students tend to write a few witty lines. Some students just complain with illogical remarks.

ex. Dude, I had to spend like 10 hours total for this class. Such a pain! I actually had to study for the midterm!
