I am wondering what level course of Spanish to take next year in college. I am an incoming freshman and I took AP Spanish in highschool. I signed up for a 300-level course because I wasn't sure...Was that an oops?

Your school probably has some kind of placement test for you to take, or an automatic placement based on your AP score. Contact the Spanish department at your college for more information, but it's probably something that can wait until orientation/advising at the start of the semester.

Are they just letting you choose without a placement test?

Lumine, most of the schools I applied to (including the one I'm going to) don't issue placement tests, it's all dependent on how many years you took in high school, or, if you took AP, what score you got. Now that being said, I have a friend who took AP and knew he did terrible at it, so rather than take the advanced class that he would have (Intermediate French II), he convinced them to let him take the class below that, so I imagine they may be flexible as long as your request isn't too outrageous
