Choosing college for Architecture

My son is a JR and starting to visit colleges. Currently KState is on the top of our list. Mainly because it seems the best school that is still in the affordability range, as we will be paying out of state tuition, and is semi close to home. We live in MN, are there any other schools that would be good to keep on the list. The other part is he is still getting a feel for what area of architecture he is interested in - art is a strong area for him. He has 7 years of drawing/painting at a private art studio. Any thoughts input are appreciated.
