Choosing majors

I would love to attend an engineering college at Cal Poly, but I am not sure if I would get accepted. I also wouldn't mind attending a math or science college, and I would have a much better shot at getting accepted. My question is if I were to apply to a college of engineering at Cal Poly but then get rejected, would I still be able to apply to a college of math/science? Thanks in advance.

Which Cal Poly??? Cal Poly SLO only allows you to select 1 major on the application, so if you do not get into that major then you do not get into SLO. Cal Poly Pomona considers an alternate major, so you could put Engineering as your 1st choice and Science/Math major as an alternate. If you post your Stats, posters could tell you your chances.

San Luis Obispo

Basic stats:
GPA - 3.6 UW 88th percentile
ACT
June 2014(non writing) - C 32 R 31 S 32 E 32 M 34
October 2014(writing) - C 32 R 34 S 32 E 31 M 32
Superscore - C 33 R 34 S 32 E 32 M 34

SAT
January 2014 Math 740 CR 610 W 590 1940 composite
June 2014 Math 700 CR 650 W 630 1980 composite
Superscore Math 740 CR 650 W 630 2020 composite

SATII
Math II 690
Chem 720
Physics 700

AP
Chem 4
Physics 3, made a major mistake on free response
English 4
Stat 3
US History 3
Euro History 3

I could always have some of the scores removed from my transcript, would you suggest any removals? Maybe the SATII scores, they’re not very good.
I was actually thinking of just including ACT scores, and taking out both SATII and SAT

Involved in Seaperch, TSA, Science Olympiad, Math Team + local math competitions

Thanks.

Cal Poly SLO uses 9th grades in their GPA calculation <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;
Your Stats look competitive and SLO will super score so just report all scores. They will not use your SAT II’s and EC’s only count for 10%. You have a good chance for acceptance in Engineering, just make sure you have some backups. Good Luck.

Thanks a bunch!
