Choosing my American Cultures Class

<p>Heya,</p>

<p>I've already signed up for Chem 1A and Physics 7A for first semester, and I was wondering what AC course of the following would best complement the two classes:</p>

<p>ANTHROPOLOGY 2AC P 001 LEC: Introduction to Archaeology
MWF 11-12P
Notes: I'd have Lightfoot as a professor, but the drawback would be that I would have 3 back-to-back finals on the same day.</p>

<p>LINGUISTICS 55AC P 001 LEC: The American Languages
MWF 9-10A
Notes: I haven't heard anything about Houser's teaching style, and I'd have to take Majda instead of Stacey as my Chem professor.</p>

<p>LESBIAN GAY BISEXUAL TRANSGENDER ST 20AC P 001 LEC: Alt. Sexual Identities and Communities in Contemporary American Society
TuTh 330-5P
Notes: I could stack this course with Holtz for Math 54. It would also be like a ShopNDrop type of thing...oh, and I would have to take Majda instead of Stacey too.</p>

<p>ETHNIC STUDIES 41AC P 001 LEC: A Comparative Survey of Protest Movements Since the 60's
M 2-5P
Notes: I'd have a LONG Monday(8-5) but, fortunately, a short Friday(8-10).</p>

<p>All other AC courses seem unreasonable for me to choose this semester, but feel free to suggest some regardless. Anyways, tell me what you think-- thanks!</p>

<p>Chem 1A - all the profs teach the same material, so it doesn’t matter which you go to, you can also attend any of the 3 lectures regardless of which lecture you enroll in. but if you prefer one professor’s lecturing style, you may go to a specific one, but overall, it doesn’t matter. </p>

<p>I haven’t taken any of those courses so I can’t advocate for any in particular - but I do recommend AGAINST 3 finals in one day. Especially if the other 2 are Chem 1A and Physics 7A. The two alone is enough and you’ll need a break.</p>

<p>Chem1a and physics? Have fun with owl and mastering physics.</p>

<p>I’ve heard good things about sociology 3ac (good teacher, easy A, etc) but it’s difficult to get in. I tried last semester but I had to drop the waitlist because I was under the minimum number of units telebears wouldn’t let me add anymore classes without dropping something.</p>

<p>And as stly said, you can go to any lecture. Personally, I’d choose the ac class that would allow me to attend Stacy or Arnold’s lecture. Majda’s accent is a bit thick and chem1a is difficult enough with out that.</p>
