Choosing my colleges to apply ??

<p>Hi. I have been struggling deciding which colleges to apply to..
Im thinking about applying to 10 colleges at the max.</p>

<p>Heres my stats:</p>

<p>-Going to public HS in SoCal
-GPA UW = 4.32 W = 3.86
- 4 honors classes, and took and taking 7 AP classes
- planning on taking 7 APs for senior year
-39/640 class rank
-ExtraCC :
ROP theatre tech (Student Sound Director) over 800 hrs
CSF vice pres
outside school volunteering club(secretary -> vice pres)
about 150 service hrs
Taking online harvard class
Sister city ambassador/translator
worked as an intern at a radio station 200+hrs
Got an award from LA police/fire department
Got an award from LA Councils
piano CM lvl 7
-ACT (30, 34, 21, 24, 9 Essay) 28 im going to take it again
-Korean SATII = 790</p>

<p>Okay, here r the colleges im thinking of applying to
2-backup schools
UC Irvine
CSU long beach</p>

<p>4-dream schools
Brown University
Cornell University
UC Berkeley
University of Chicago</p>

<p>4-higher chances schools
UCLA
UC San Diego
Berklee College of Music (for audio engineering major)
Boston College</p>

<p>Here are the majors i want:</p>

<p>Computer Science/Programming
Music Composition
Audio Engineering
Broadcasting Radio/TV Technician</p>

<p>how is my raw list ??
and do the colleges listed are decent in those majors i have listed ??

<p>I think your looks fine, but not yet complete.
UCLA and Berklee would probably count as reaches - every school with a acceptance rate below 30 percent is automatically. So you would have 6 reaches, which is a little too much. What you are missing are real match schools (UCSD I guess would be one), so schools where you have a good chance of being accepted to although there is no guarantee. Also, if you are headed for engineering, check out whether you actually have guaranteed admission into your program.</p>
