Hello all,

I'm a community college transfer student who is majoring in Philosophy and am planning on getting a doctorate as soon as I can. With that being said, I have almost completed the work at the community college level, and have been thinking about what school I wanted to attend. At first I was thinking totally about USC, but after some thinking as well as input from others, have began to think of other schools, one in particular is Berkeley. I would not mind going to USC, but the problem is money, and since I'm going to grad school, I figured I should just save and go to Berkeley (I get wayyy more financial aid from them) and then go from there. However, I cannot decide which is the better school. I've looked at both of the staff and seen that both have high quality professors, although it seems that USC offers more courses, yet Berkeley is known for their liberal arts majors and for pete's sake the city is named after famous philosopher George Berkeley. I'm at a dilemma. I've applied to USC for their spring semester, but was thinking about just staying the extra year and doing TAP and getting into Cal, but still cannot decide between the two.

Any input and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards
