Choosing schools--HELP ME DECIDE

I need help deciding which school to go to. I am still waiting on University of Texas- Austin, but for now, I need your help narrowing down- or just give me your opinion- on the following schools:

University of Wisconsin- Madison
Florida State University
Indiana University- Bloomington
Ohio State
University of Pittsburgh

I am also still waiting on University of Florida...what are your thoughts on that school, as well?

I would appreciate your thoughts!

PS I am from NJ, and my major is: undecided

Do you have ANY idea what you would like to do? Any areas of interest?

Business and Communications, maybe...I am just throwing that out there though.

Rule out Ohio State immediately (I have visited friends there multiple times). The campus is the pits, the classes are huge. Life revolves around football 24 hours a day. The business school is decent, but not nearly as good as Indiana's.

I would go to Wisconsin of these, even though the B-school is worse than Indiana's. It has the best overall reputation and the campus is nice.

My rank:
Wisconsin
Florida
Indiana
Florida State (weather)
Pittsburgh
Ohio State

I'd second Wisconsin overall.

I don't have anything useful to say except that "shopgirl243" - your alias remind me of meg ryan in You've Got Mail. :)

shopgirl,

Have you visited any of these places? I'm guessing no, or else you'd have a better idea. Unfortunately they're scattered but that's the only way to know, how you feel walking around the places and talking to people.

I've been to Pittsburgh often, not to any of the others. If you think you'd like an urban feel then you might like Pitt. It's campus actually is quite nice and there's a lot of action always. Also it's driving distance from NJ, 5 or 6 hours if that matters at all.

u wisc's where i'd go.

Florida State is a fussy school, I went to there twice to visit my uncle and aunt. From a faculty's point of view, my uncle said that he met some of the stupiest students he had ever taught.

Wisconsin would be my first choice...Indiana my second. Both have great academics, strong reputations, gorgeous campuses and are located in hip college towns. But Wisconsin is a little better than Indiana, so I would certainly go to Wisconsin over Indiana.
