how bad is it if i get my recommendation from a freshman teacher?
but i was his lab assistant in my junior year.
this is not only a question for brown but for other colleges as well.
some college require teacher recs from 11 or 12th grade only, but im not talking about those schools.
im talking about schools that dont necessarily have rec restrictions.

Not sure exactly what a "lab assistant" is -- if it involved a lot of time and he really got to know you as a student during that time, then it's probably fine. If not, I think it's much better to get somebody who taught you more recently (and in a more challenging class).

if my other recommendations are good, then is it okay?
i think my other teacher, counselor, and my mentor's recs are gonna be good. even my 9th grade teacher's (11th lab assistant) rec is good but im just concerned if it will critically affect my admissions decision

It probably won't "critically" affect it, but it's still best to pick somebody who knows you well from recently. If he does, then great.

my other candidate for teacher rec is my junior teacher
i aced his ap bio class and got 5 on the ap test. barely anyone gets an A in his class. but i dont think he will write me a good rec.

the other candidate, my 9th grade teacher tought me in biology and i was his lab assistant in junior year. i excelled in that class and i think he wrote me a good rec.

who shall i choose?

If you don't think your bio teacher will write you a good rec, why did you ask him? Have somebody write for you who you think knows your strong points as of recently and is willing to say great thing about you.

i think ur getting confused

i didnt request my 11th grade ap bio teacher to write me a rec

i requested my 9th grade bio teacher to write me a rec.

Right, but you said he was your "other candidate," and I was saying that might not be the best idea.

Sorry, I meant "would" when I wrote "did."
