Choosing Theater over Sport

<p>Should my daughter who wants to major in theater continue on the Varsity soccer team? She made it as a freshman is now a junior. It precludes her from participating in the fall play. She participates in the spring musical and student directed plays, she does community theater in the summer and will most likely audition for precollege theater programs for next summer.</p>

<p>The soccer team plays at a highly competitive level and she has a chance to be captain as a senior. She loves both activities but obviously theater is where her biggest passion lies.</p>

<p>It wont make a difference as far as acceptance is concerned. If she loves both, maybe she can do soccer in the fall and do the plays/theater activities in the spring. My son who did alot of theater in high school also did other activities-it was difficult but doable and sometimes he had to juggle things but managed.</p>
