Drexel, Old Dominion, Purdue

Its also Purdue (I knew I forgot one)

I chose Penn State and their business honors program over Temple (Honors), Univ of Mich (Honors), Illinois State, New York Univ (Honors), Drake Univ (Honors), and Stanford

WE ARE!!!

Genie160: Wait wait wait, you chose Penn State Business over Michigan Honors and Stanford?

I mean, I’m as happy as can be by going to Penn State, I’d take Stanford any day, haha. Then again, you probably have your reasons.

I chose it over VT, UConn, UMass, UDel, and Purdue… for engineering.

D chose Penn State over University of Maryland (Honors), Pitt, and Delaware

cooper1234: Yes, I chose Penn State because my major actuarial science, which is a highly intensive math-based insurance field, was located in the business college and not the mathematics college. For Univ of Mich its in the Literature, Arts and Sciences college and me being strictly math-minded wasn’t terribly looking forward to having many of my core classes including the humanities.

Also, Penn State has one of the best actuarial science programs in the country and the spokesman for the Society of Actuaries is the department chair, which will allow me ‘to get my foot in the door’ so to speak. That being said Penn State cleanly trumps even NYU and Stanford’s business college.

anyone who chose penn state over cornell, i am curious why? i got guaranteed transfer to cornell so I am going to penn state for a year then cornell.

Why I chose PSU over cornell-
- SCHREYER
- Equine Science Minor (cornell doesn’t have it)
- PSU is 3 hours closer to my house
- PSU Football

Cons-
- Cornell was actually cheaper.
- I turned down the university w/ the best vet school.

I chose psu over cornell mostly because the program was more what I was looking for. As a horticulture major I wanted a program that was more applied and I found cornell to be very graduate school minded. I am not looking to go to grad school and I want more hands-on work. Plus I was admitted to the SHC and psu is significantly cheaper, so that made the decision much easier.

My daughter chose Penn State over UCLA and has no regrets!

I choose PSU over…
-Pitt
-Fordham
-NYU
-American
-Richmond

No regrets.

Purdue, Minnesota.

Illinois and Wisconsin were my top choices but I got rejected
and interestingly, as being an international student.
University of Toronto(dilemma, no regretted) Mcmaster University(Canada), Waterloo University(got offered a little scholarship) , University of Nottingham(UK), University of York(UK),
Got a conditional offer from Edinburgh University in Scotland, Darwins uni!!:3

However I chose to study at Penn State, a US institute will provide me better opportunities for my future, plus it`s a great school for engineering. I really want to continue studying at a grad school as well, stanford, uc berkeley, cornell, ut austin, penn state, illinois and wisconsin will be my choices I guess…

wish you all good luck.

Harvard and MIT. No regrets.

@collegebound9528 if you are not joking it begs the question, why? I mean Penn State is really good and I am very happy that I am going there but Harvard and MIT?

Back in the day, I chose Penn State for engineering over Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, and Lehigh. At the time, I got rejected by MIT, or I most certainly would have gone there instead, but having lived a little and knowing what I know now (I’m currently in graduate school at a top Ivy), if I had it to do over again, I would pick Penn State over any school in the country including MIT and Harvard.

FYI - I laid out the straight up facts as to why you should choose Penn State on the Pitt board. If it gets deleted by a moderator because the Pitt people can’t handle the truth, PM me.

(Umm, yah, it got deleted and I got warned. Those kids have absolutely no idea what they’re missing out on.)
