Does anyone know if Harvard has a Christian club or organization? Is there a chapel on campus?

Thanks

Thanks

I met this great girl at prefrosh weekend who told me all about the Christian groups on campus so yeah, they exist... and I'm pretty sure a little flyer was sent out in the acceptance package about different religious services on campus.

Memorial Church is right on campus:

I assume that by Christian, you mean a Protestant denomination? Memorial Church is the site of non-denominational services but was established as a Christian church. when it is used for non-Christian services, the cross is covered. Catholics go to mass at St Paul's, just across Adams House.

I am aware of one specifically Christian a capella group, Under Construction, because one young woman I met several years ago was involved in it.

coureur, I think that club is defunct now. I'm active in the Christian community here, and there are plenty of fellowships. I've listed them here for you:

Christian Impact and Athletes in Action (Campus Crusade for Christ)
Harvard-Radcliffe Christian Fellowship (InterVarsity)
Harvard-Radcliffe Asian-American Christian Fellowship (InterVarsity)
Reformed University Fellowship
Episcopal Christian Fellowship
Asian Baptist Student Koinonia
Catholic Students Association

I can't think of any others of the top of my head, but it is safe to say there is a fellowship here that is right for you! Also, not many students go to Memorial Church but to other Boston-area churches. You can obtain a list when you arrive on campus in the fall provided by HRCF/AACF.

This is great! Thanks everyone.

bump

Why are you bumping this -- wasn't your question answered?

for possibily new info or new clubs starting this year.

p.s. why do you care if I bump or not? Do you know of any Christian clubs?

sorry if that came off as rude - i just didn't see what else someone could say, so i thought it might be more helpful if you asked a question (rather than just saying "bump")

no worries :) You're right.

The Harvard Christian Fellowship helped us on move-in day last year. They had giant bins on rollers and we were so grateful to not have to make numerous trips in the elevator.

They wore bright green shirts that indicated they were volunteers.

Shiloh,

Thanks for the info. I'll pass this on to my son who is looking at connecting with Christian groups from Harvard.

Shiloh - You should be very grateful for having an elevator! Only a couple of freshman dorms do.

^^^Thanks for being my conscience! Life is so much easier that way. :) What else should I do?
