Sorry that this a little of topic (although in light of this forum, I can guess the one gift that we would all want), but it seems like a knowledgeable place to get a response that may help many.
Any ideas for good gifts for students going off to college next fall (in preparation)? Things that would help out or make life more enjoyeable.

those annoying yaffa stacker boxes, really useful though
linens and things/bed bath and beyond gift certificates
a fleece blanket that you think they'd like (someone gave me a care bear one :-P)
shot glass (depends on your stance on drinking)
microwave
coffee or tea maker (depends on how caffeien addicted the person is lol)</p>
<p>Hmmmm well Im sure there's others....just think about what the person likes at home and find a portable version for college lol I hope this helps a bit, I know I'd be happy getting this stuff going away next year.</p>

<p>mmmmm, if you dont have a digital camera, i'd say most students would like one to take pics of their friends and dorm to email to mom and dad, plus they could use it for the second half of their senior year for memories of high school</p>

<p>I would stay away from a laptop unless you already know what college you're going to because many offer special deals where they'll provide service and some colleges prefer certain brands/models.</p>
