Hello, my DS will begin his Freshman year this August. So far I have been very impressed by CNU. The admitted students day was well done, Freshman Settling Sail orientation was great as well. The campus is beautiful and the theater facilities are the best of any college we toured. My son was very active in the performing arts in high school and plans to be involved at CNU as well, but it is not what he wants to major in - no reason other than he has multiple passions. I’ve been able to meet the President and had two meals with the Provost - who is a very interesting guy (see his video on CNU’s YouTube on how to be a successful college student - it’s very good).
I don’t know a lot about the shows CNU does. I do know they bring in international acts to the Ferguson Center there and students are able to get discounted tickets to shows.
@vamominvabeach Thank you for the response. That is so exciting for your son! I have heard that CNU is a commuter school with campus emptying out on weekends, do you know if this is the case? Actually I am sure it will not matter to my D very much bc when she is involved with theater, I am sure there will be plenty to do on weekends and probably those kids stay around to be busy rehearsing etc…
Students are required to live on campus the first three years. Years ago CNU was a commuter school, it’s not anymore. It’s a residential campus with over 200 clubs and organizations. There may be kids that go home on the weekends, but there is no reason to do that with so much going on. My son will only be about 45 minutes from home, but he’s not planning to come home on weekends.
Thank you @vamominvabeach that’s great to hear!!
I live 30 min from CNU and I got in when do PLP decisions come out?
@Blue4940 Were you mailed an invitation to the Presidential Weekend Jan 30? Son has already done the interview and application so I’m not sure he’d need to attend. PLP notification was by letter approximately two weeks after acceptance last year.
This is last year’s thread. Join me on the 2016 thread where I say my son got in!
