Marijuana is barely physically addictive, meaning the body doesn’t go throw withdrawal symptoms like it would with other drugs such as alcohol, coke or cigarettes. However, it can be psychologically addicting or habit forming. Either way it is way easier to quit than cigs.

So if you replace the cigs with weed until the withdrawal symptoms are past, it shouldn’t be that hard to quit the weed, especially because you won’t be having to use it for that long

Yeah, weed helps with any kind of withdrawal/hangover/anything, lol.

Idk though, I mean I’m a pretty heavy cigarette smoker and I’ve never had problems with being addicted to anything besides cigarettes…I smoke weed a lot too I guess but if I don’t have it, it doesn’t bother me too much.

Yeah…hall mates making me quit, lol.
We’ll see though, might substitute weed for it
But when I’m high, I’m useless…so yeah lol
damn I want to smoke, but I don’t want to disappoint the couple people who want me to quit, but I’m sure in general they don’t really care that much

For someone who has been smoking for a while, there most definitely are withdrawal symptoms—not of the same magnitude as alcohol, cigarettes, or cocaine since it lasts a couple weeks at most and doesn’t run the risk of seizures (as with alcohol) nor the same severity (it’s less of a severe drug), but withdrawal nonetheless. Clearly this is not exactly the case with OP since he does not smoke weed constantly, but the point is that the addiction potential is there and switching one substance for another is not ridding oneself of the addiction. This is the reason why so many doctors are against methadone treatments for addicts. Again, this is clearly not to the same degree, but the potential is there.

This is also coming from someone who smokes a good amount of weed. :D

Nice to know there are some stoners here too hahah. Weed isn’t that bad at all. I’m able to work out and stay fit even though I’ve been smoking weed forever. I’m able to get all my work done in a timely manner. It’s not that bad as people make it out to be!

When I quit smoking cigarettes I used excessive amounts of coffee and diet soda to transfer my addiction from nicotine to caffeine and it worked really well. Whenever I had a craving to smoke I’d have a can of soda or cup of coffee. I went totally overboard but now I’ve cut down to 1 or 2 caffeinated beverages a day. It’s been a little over a year since I quit smoking.

Weed is gross. I’d rather smoke cigarettes than weed. But I’d rather smoke neither than either.

@the duck, if people are aware of the risks and choose to take them, it’s not necessary to lecture people on their health. Believe it or not, I actually know cigarettes are bad for me.
