Cincinnatus Scholarship University of Cincinnati- Cross posting

Cross posting in Parents in Financial is not seeing much action this weekend.
My son received his invitation for the Cincinnatus scholarship competition at UC. I have read all the threads here and all the info on UC's web page. I am looking for information about the competition day from anyone who has participated. The day starts at 8:30 and goes til 4:00 - does anyone know what is involved for the students? What should the dress code be? UC is one of his top choices and he is thrilled to get this chance (so are we). Any help is appreciated.

There will be many hundreds of kids at this "competition." Dress code should be comfortable, informal but at least neat and clean.

There will be one program for the kids and one for the parents. Kids will take about an hour or two for the competition. There will also be math placement testing too.

To this day, I have no idea what it takes to get the full scholarship vs. partial scholarships, although everyone who competes is guaranteed some money.

Chances of getting a full ride are about one in one hundred. Changes of getting more than $2,000 for instate or $5,000 for out of state are about 3-5%, although I am guessing.

Good luck and enjoy the process. As I recollect, it was a well organized, good program.
