Howdy,
I tried searching for something on this topic, but I got nothing, so my apologies if I’m starting a thread thats been discussed already.
I got into Rose-Hulman as an Early Actioner, and a few weeks after I got admitted, I got a fancy brochure for the Circle of Distinction Scholarships. I can’t tell if these scholarships are for students who have already enrolled or if they are open to all admitted students. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of information out there on the internet–well, actually none that I could find. If anybody could help clear some of my confusion, that would be awesome. I dig Rose, but unless I get big merit scholarships, there is no way that I would attend.
I ask because I would be interested in applying to these scholarships if they are open to me.
Hi, @mmmmtoasty. My D is a senior at RHIT, but I am not familiar with that particular scholarship. I highly recommend calling Admissions or Financial Aid and asking them your questions. The staff at Rose is typically really good at working with students (and prospective students!) and I’m sure they would love to hear from you and answer your questions.
My son also received the COD info. They are definitely for incoming freshman, and you had to receive the letter/invite to apply. The link is private. I emailed a number of questions to financial aid. Yo can apply to more than one, but you have to be planning on the intended major noted. You can also apply for other named scholarships on the public scholarship page. Financial aid was quick to answer our questions, their email is on their homepage. Also, I confirmed merit, other than the special scholarships, comes out mid March.
Thanks for both of your responses!
@MomOf2TeenGirls I did shoot an email to the Financial aid office, who replied very quickly, and they said that it is open to Rose Hulman students only.
@Texasmom12 I wish I saw your reply earlier!
I hope this thread helps somebody who was wondering the same.
