<p>well i think that is where your personal statements are for. Colleges want to know more about you as an individual and not statistics. You could explain your situation there or if the college has a separate optional dedicated to that (UC might) you can explain there. Good luck!</p>
<p>Many colleges have sections just for that- look for something like, “Are they any special circumstances under which we should consider your grades?” or something. It’s also something you could put in the “anything else?” section.</p>
