I'm currently a CIS major at a state school trying to decide on a minor that would supplement my major. Our CIS program is more programming heavy than most and I was wondering if a computer science minor with additional programming and theory classes would be best.

My school also offers a supply chain management course that I've heard pairs well with CIS, but I'm not really sure what it includes. I'd love to hear some suggestions before I speak with my adviser on Monday.

Your school offers Supply Chain Management? Oh you lucky kid, I wish mine did. Supply Chain Management is all about how a product goes from its creation to its purchase by a customer and all the steps in between.

This video explains SCM really well: [Module 1: What is Supply Chain Management? (ASU-WPC-SCM) - YouTube](<a href=“Module 1: What is Supply Chain Management? (ASU-WPC-SCM) - ASU's W. P. Carey School - YouTube”>Module 1: What is Supply Chain Management? (ASU-WPC-SCM) - ASU's W. P. Carey School - YouTube)

If that sounds like something interests you, then I would say go for it. I feel like CIS programs really push Systems Analysis as a possible career path, and SCM seems like the perfect way to supplement CIS towards that career.

That video was very insightful, SCM seems much more interesting than I thought. Systems analysis is something I’m really interested in. I’ll definitely discuss this with my adviser on Monday, thank you for your reply.
