Citibank is sponsoring me to take classes so i get can my mortgage and insurance and series6 license. How effective is this on the resume when applying for investment banking jobs. Any significance if trying to transfer into a different school with these tests completed?

Why would mortgage and insurance licenses matter for ibanking recruitment? What matters more is your network, school and interview. All else has a minute influence.

so i'm assuming you work for citibank right now?

yeah actually citigroup is the parent company of pfs investments (primerica financial services) which I just got a job with. There are going to pay for alot of the licensing tests including series6 which gives you authority to sell mutual funds and then yeah, insurance, mortgage, security, investment policies...so I thought it might be of help.

it will have no influence at all when applying to ib jobs

Ya I worked for Smith Barney (Citigroup being their parent company of course) and from what I've learned here, investment banking doesn't care much about previous experiences unless it's IB related. By the way, a series6 license wouldn't help you at all in IB. Are you actually going to be making the sales? Are you out of college already or is this an internship?

im just a sophmore in college now and its more like just a summer job
