<p>It's been so ingrained in my soul to cite my facts, but is that considered inappropriate for this essay?</p>
<p>An analytical essay for a college app is a little different than a research paper. I didn't cite anything....</p>
<p>yeah I decided not to after finishing it. I realize in hindsight this was kind of an absurd question :P</p>
<p>I liked it. Sure, it was hard, but it's testing us on the most important skill to have for college: writing ability. In college, it's all about essays, essays, essays. I'm surprised that only one of my schools asked for a graded writing sample.</p>
<p>That's because colleges have discovered that not all students are honest. Some applicants have written their writing sample and then picked up a red pencil and graded themselves on it. Sadly, the authenticity of authorship is called into question with the graded writing sample.</p>
