Currently my mom was naturalized on Jan 23, 2007. I was a minor at that point (but since my Bday is Feb 21, I'm now 18). However, my mom and people who informed her said that because I was a minor when my mom was naturalized, I'm already a citizen like her.

Ever since then, all of the colleges I applied to requested a copy of proof of my citizenship. So me and my mom sent my mom's certification of naturalization and my birth certificate (from Philippines) for identification. It seems like they're not taking it. Should I have some documentation that I am already a citizen - because it's been two months now and we don't receive any other documentation regarding citizenship (just my mom's certificate of naturalization). We're new to this naturalization thing, and me and my mom is really really frustrated and confused. Please help

and I would start with this:

"If your child permanently resides in the U.S, you can obtain evidence of your child’s citizenship by applying for a Certificate of Citizenship. You will need to file form N-600 (Application for Certificate of Citizenship) and submit it to the local USCIS District Office or Sub-Office that holds jurisdiction over your permanent residence. You can also apply for a U.S. passport from the Department of State."
