Citizenship Question on Common App

Hey all,

So I saw the following question on the Stanford supplementary Questions list:

"If you are neither a U.S. Citizen nor a U.S. Permanent Resident and will not be pursuing need-based financial aid from Stanford, you must respond to the following statement.

As an international applicant who is neither a U.S. Citizen nor a U.S. Permanent Resident and who will NOT be applying for financial aid if admitted, I understand that I will not be able to apply for undergraduate financial aid from Stanford unless my official citizenship or permanent residency status changes.

I also understand that Stanford requires all students who are not U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents to obtain and maintain an appropriate visa status for their stay in the United States."

So... I happen to be a U.S. Permanent Resident, and I assume I just leave this question blank. In doing so, there is no green check mark next to my Questions list, indicating it's "complete." Can someone with more experience tell me if this is correct, and even not marking it will allow me to submit the app? Or should I email the admissions office directly?

Thanks.

I had the same problem up till today. I’m a US citizen and didn’t want to answer that international applicant question. However, no matter what I did I couldn’t get the green check to appear. Thus I couldn’t print preview or submit. Today I got frustrated, cleared the entire “questions” section, and filled it out again. The green check appeared (without the international applicant question).

Just leave it blank…and then submit your app.
