citizenship vs. permanent resident

i'm a permanent resident here in the US, not a citizen, and have been for 6 years, is this going to hurt me when requesting financial aid if I plan to go to a school like Northwestern?

If you have status of permanent residency, it will not matter but you will have to submit additional documentation eventually to corroborate your legal "permanent resident" status. I believe that consideration for need-based aid is the same for U.S. citizens and permanent residents alike. This is not the case for international students from abroad.

This topic helped me, a lot, seriously.

I was worrying that I will have a less chance on getting into top colleges when I'm only a permanent resident.

Thanks for the info. ;)
