City and Regional Planning transfer, chances?

I’m a transfer student, I have 58 units, I wasn’t able to get one of the “desired” courses for my major, and I wasn’t able to get more of the assist.org courses done because all the classes in my community college are filled up and so are all the ones in the local community colleges around me. I have the golden four requirements finished, and my IGETC completed as well. Tomorrow is the last day to make any changes to my schedule to turn into Cal Poly but since I can’t do anything about the courses all I can do is remain in the class I have for the spring and pray for the best.

My gpa is a 3.07 and I actually was accepted last year to Cal Poly with a 3.21, but I screwed up and lost my admission and that’s why my gpa lowered and why I am here asking away. The guy who was going to be my roommate was accepted as a Poli Sci major with a 2.8 with no work experience or extracurriculars or honors, and he had a moderate amount of his requirements completed. I am in the Scholars program at my school, I have volunteer experience with an activist group called CALPIRG, and I work at a pre-school 25-30 hours a week. So in conclusion, what are my chances? How is it possible for a guy who still at this point had lower credentials than myself be accepted? Please respond ASAP.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you lose your admission?

not to be too much of a downer but if you look at the transfer enrollment projections for 2015 they are only planning for space for 15 transfer students in our program (city and regional planning) I would assume that would make it quite competitive to be accepted. I wish you both luck I just heard back from Pomona today that I was accepted to their program I hope SLO will accept me as well but who knows I am missing the precalc class that is required but have all other classes and 4.0 gpa
