I know it is part of the Architecture department and this department is very competitive in general, but is it the same for city planning?

Would a ~3.6 GPA with a ~2000 SAT be adequate or does it match the trends of the Architecture program with closer to 4.0 GPA being a must?

its part of architecture but you don’t need to submit a portfolio or anything. I think you should be fine although the acceptances were pretty random this year. my city planner went to cal poly, its a really good program!

i’m currently a 1st yr CRP major at poly and although i had a 3.95 gpa… i only got a 1710 SAT and 26 ACT
