If you’re looking to study engineering in Canada, these colleges are better:

University of Toronto
University of British Columbia
McGill University
University Of Waterloo
University Of Alberta

thanks for your reply,

i know the schools you listed are more well known but i was wondering what kind of reputation queens has around the world.

i’m from canada, and i go to one of the schools pierre mentioned. the top 3 engineering schools in canada are Toronto, Waterloo and Queens ( for UNDERGRAD). For grad studies though, I wouldn’t go anywhere else except U of Toronto, since they get most of the research $$, have the best labs, facilities, and so have the best profs in most research areas

EDIT: Sorry, to directly answer your question, Queens has a decent rep for engineering outside of canada, but U of Toronto still tops it, especially for grad school

the reason I’m asking is that in my area, Queens is pretty well regarded. However, when i saw the world engineering rankings i see that Toronto and McGill place well but i can’t even find Queens in the list!

All the schools that Pierre mentioned are on the list and place quite well.

some schools only have a strong regional reputation, for example, I know that Northeastern has a strong reputation in the Boston/New England area while it is relatively unknown outside of it. The school that I’m going to right now, Clemson, has a very small academic reputation outside of South Carolina and Georgia.
