i am registered for m408c but now i've decided that i want to claim credit for it from my ap score. the problem is i am also registered for chemistry, and i must be enrolled in a calc course or have credit for calc in order to take chem. it says on the website that i must first drop my calc class in order to claim credit for it, but i am worried that it will automatically drop me from chemistry. i dont want to worry about trying to re-add it during adds and drops. has anyone else dealt with something like this/know what i should do??

Contact the undergraduate chemistry office and ask them about it. I’ve had a similar problem. I tested out of Ch 301 and was trying to enroll in Ch 302, but it said I didn’t meet the prerequisites. So I called them and they fixed it up really quick. They were really nice about it too. I lost the phone number I wrote down, but I’m sure you can call some number of the Department of Chemistry and they’ll send you to the right place.

i registered for ch301 before claiming credit for calculus. i think all it will do is put a warning on your registration page, saying something like, “you must be enrolled in or have credit for calculus” blah blah. i think they give you until the second day of class or something to meet the prereqs, so you should be okay. it can’t hurt to call and check though

thanks guys. sounds good. i’m going to talk to my advisor too just in case because i know you’re suppose to tell them before you claim credit anyway
