Claremont Colleges?

Anyone get into a one of the Claremont colleges in California? I just want an idea of what kind of kids academically go there

I got into Pomona. What do you want to know? The schools vary in selectivity and in the types of students that attend them.

really? I just wanna know what kind of credentials you had academically to get in and what you’re majoring in, if that’s cool

this information would be much more effectively gained by looking at the colleges’ websites and some college literature.

college literature?

there are all sorts of books and such on this. you might also be able to find some of the more intangible sort of information (non-stats stuff, like type of people who attend) in the ‘campus vibes’ section of this site.

I got in to Harvey Mudd. It was the last college that remained in consideration before I finally chose Caltech.

The schools are very difficult to get into. CMC and Pomona are the most difficult, each having an admission rate of approximately 13%. I think it is safe to assume you need a very strong academic background and interesting extracurricular activities. Each school has a different orientation (CMC emphasizes leadership), so what might impress one school could receive a different reaction at another school.

interesting … thanks everyone!

just wanna say im a high school student taking classes at harvey mudd and i can say first hand it is an outstanding school. they pay very close to each student. my specific class is chemistry and the professors work to remember every students name. also, at mudd, once u sign the honor code, u have access to every building 24/7, thats how much trust and faith they have in their students. truly no school in the country like it. also, if u wanna take some soft science/language classes, u can cross register at any of the other claremont colleges. id love to go here if i didnt live right here!
