I read on a thread from transfer before that Claremont McKenna requested additional financial aid information of those that got in. Anyone know of something similar happening this transfer application round?

Did you get an email requesting additional financial aid documents?

I have not, but i was wondering if anyone did/something like that was happening again. Maybe tomorrow or the day after. Have you received an email like that?
I have only applied to Claremont McKenna so I’m maybe too invested in this hahaha

Accepted! Anyone else? DM me I would like to meet some others!

Congrats on your acceptance! I transferred to CMC two years ago so let me know if you have any questions.

Did you receive the request for additional financial aid documents from CMC Finaid/Admission Office OR idoc from College Board? I got IDOC request from College Board on May 4/5 and now got rejected. I submitted IDOC on May 13th though, idk if that’s the reason.

Also are you from 4-year universities/colleges or CC?

Are you from 4-year universities/colleges or CC? Should I reapply for Spring transfer?

I transferred to CMC from another 4-year. If you are still interested in attending CMC then you are welcome to try and reapply for spring admission.

Did you recall receiving the request for additional financial aid documents from CMC Finaid/Admission Office OR idoc from College Board? I got IDOC request from College Board on May 4/5 and now got rejected. I submitted IDOC on May 13th though, idk if that’s the reason.

Also did you apply for a huge finaid (full tuition or above)?

I got contacted by CMC’s financial aid department a week before decisions were released to clarify a discrepancy between my FAFSA and my CSS. I don’t think a late IDOC would cause a rejection considering CMC is need-blind.

I did need significant aid.

So you had both IDOC request and CMC finaid contact, right?

Well, I did do IDOC but I submitted it in March right after I submitted my application. I submitted my apps on March 15 and got the IDOC request on March 18. So I got the IDOC request before they even started viewing my application. Are you a domestic applicant?

No I’m international sophomore studying at a 4-year university.

Oh, I see. That may have something to do with it then. I know CMC is need-aware for international students. I’m assuming IDOC is instantly requested for domestic applicants since mine was requested as soon as I submitted my apps.

I was just accepted as a transfer at CMC for the fall, but my acceptance letter said that housing for transfers is not guaranteed. When you transferred, did you get on campus housing or did you have to get off campus housing? I am worried that if I do not get on campus housing, it will be difficult for me to become integrated into the CMC community. Thanks for your help!

When I transferred (Fall 2019), all transfers were guaranteed housing. Three transfers were even able to get single dorms. As a transfer, it is already difficult integrating yourself into a new community, and I would agree that living off-campus would not help. I’m so sorry that housing is not guaranteed for you.

I think this may have to do with the incoming freshman class at CMC. CMC massively overenrolled our incoming freshman class. I have heard that 375 freshmen committed. For reference, the outgoing senior class at CMC only has 301 students.

Thanks for the info, that’s super helpful!

No problem, let me know if you have any other questions!
