I've been accepted into Claremont(Economics) or NYU (the Sports Management program.) If I went to NYU I would switch as soon as I could to the Business major. I live in Orange County. I love New York City and have visited many time(Dads from there). I just am so confused.
I was also accepted into Fordham,Trinity(Conn.),University of Rochester,USD and Grinnell. Help where do I go?
I'm leaning toward NYU.

Go with your heart, NYU.

golakes,

If you attend NYU, would you be a business major at Stern? If not, then I don't think studying business there is worth it. The economics department at Claremont McKenna is phenomenal and definitely better than the business department at NYU CAS. In other words, if you're not doing business at Stern, then economics at CMC is better. In the end, it's still your choice to make.

we..Thanks for your reply. I will not be in business at Stern but I am allowed to transfer in 1 year. My brother is a senior at USC in the Marshall business school and he could not get into Marshall his first year. He got in his second year. So, what if I got into Stern my second year?

I've heard it's easier to transfer within USC. It maynot be the same with NYU.

Has anyone transferred within NYU? Anyone?

for econ, CMC is a no-brainer. For a city life, well, doh!

Anyone else want to respond to this thread?

You might want to ask how easy it is to transfer to NYU Stern program to the NYU forum. It's important to get all the facts straight before you make your decision.

Your major aside, NYU and CMC are SO different! Are you sure you'd be happy at either one?

I know what Claremont is all about and it is close to home...45 minutes. NYU on the other hand is in the sickest city in the US. I have been with my family many times to NYC and I have fallen in love with that city. I can always come back to Cali.
I haven't made up my mind yet.

CMC and NYU are completely different schools. What exactly attracts you to each one? If you answer that question honestly and completely, then I think you'll know which of the two you want to attend more.

You will be presented with great opportunities from both schools...no one can say for sure which one will make you prosper to a greater extent. The obvious advantages to each are internships in new york as opposed to the superior reputation of cmc econ (over nyu econ). So it comes down to...how do you wish to spend the next for years of your life?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have to do some definite soul searching.I'm only 18 and I just want to make the right decision.
