clarification

what are lower UC schools? ive been seeing the term used around the boards...

Well, since no one's answering you, I'll attempt it.

I think this means the University of California schools in the lower portion of the state. Or maybe the lower ranked ones!

The UC schools are:
Berkeley
Davis
Irvine
LA
Riverside
San Diego
Santa Barbara
Santa Cruz

Berkeley and UCLA are the most selective ones.

the lower ones are the ones less respected and easier to get into.....such as davis, irvine, riverside, and santa cruz

on the other hand la and berkley are on the higher end...getting into them is as hard as ivy's nowadays

Actually the GC at our kids' school 9who was an adcom at UCDavis) said that these days, UCDavis & UCSD are REALLY tough to get in as well, especially for folks out of state. For that matter, UCs are tough to get in for out of staters period, but those UCB & UCLA the most difficult, followed by UCD & UCSD.

i never said ucsd was easy to get into...i know its one of the harder ones along with santa barbara....but i have to disagree...ucd is pretty easy
