I'm applying ED and the deadline is Nov 1. Does that mean before Nov 1, like Oct 31? Or can I send it in the day of, Nov 1?

Also can I use the additional information box for several things? I want to use it to explain 2 of my positions, extra awards, and to explain the drop in my grades sophomore year.

Most colleges say "postmarked" by November 1. If you are submitting online, I would do it before, just in case they don't get it, for whatever reason.

What downtown128 said. I haven't heard of any places that go with receipt date rather than postmark date, but I haven't checked all the thousands of colleges that exist either. Your prospective college should say somewhere in its instructions or forms what it means.

Submitting online -- definitely plan on doing it a little early. Not this last year that I recall, but in previous years I've heard stories of people who tried to do things online at the last minute and computer problems at either end froze them out.

There is no reason why you can't use the additional information box for whatever you want. It doesn't say, "Is there any one additional thing you care to tell us about?"
