Clark Kerr

I got my housing and I got a triple in Clark. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of this? And is the walk as bad as everyone makes it out to be?

I'm not sure, but I'm curious as well. I got a double suite, and would like to know about the walk.

ANYONE else get same housing as me? eh?

i visited in on cal day. the walk does take at least 10-15 minutes to get the the RSF building. it would take even longer if you classroom is on the other side of campus.

somehow i really, really did not like their bathrooms

I've heard about the bad bathrooms, as well. Oh well. It's easier for me to cope with bad bathrooms than lack of space, which is certainly not a problem at CKC. The distance was originally my first concern, but I settled with it by thinking it as a way of not gaining those freshmen 15. ;)

i thought the view was gorgeous...and i keep hearing about this bathroom stuff, i hope it's not as bad as it seems

i got a double suite too!! w00t!

i got a triple in clark kerr......at least im happy i didnt get bowles

is there a view from kerr?

i lived in CKC for a year.

pros: the rooms are very large. even with 3 people, you'll have way, way more room than people in the units. i lived on the third floor and we could see the sun setting in the bay with the golden gate in the background, which was a good distraction when i got stressed out. the food is generally better than the other DC's. i ate at crossroads a fair bit to meet up with friends from the units and noticed that the quality of food wasn't as good. CKC's DC is much smaller, with a better salad bar (lots of athletes) and friendlier people working the kitchen (and the campus in general). we also got to make our own waffles in the morning (sooooo good), but i heard they stopped doing that because the people were waiting in line too long. it was also nice being a little bit away from campus. it gives a better home-y feel. plus, exercise is good!

cons: the food got old by the middle of second semester whereas crossroads always has burgers, etc when you don't like the entrees for the night. i'm an engineer so all my friends were either in the units or foothill. CKC was far enough away that it seemed like a hassle to run to campus to attend meetings and events, so i ended up not getting involved with a lot of stuff i might have enjoyed were i in the units or foothill.

my biggest fear about living in the dorms were gross bathrooms, but it really wasn't that bad. the dorm-style halls had co-ed bathrooms with maybe 5-6 stalls, 5-6 sinks, 3 showers with doors, 4 showers with curtains. everything is cleaned at least once a day. always wear flipflops. always. on our floor, we silently agreed that the last two bathroom stalls would be the guys' urinals. for the most part, people are mature and keep everything clean. even when people were too drunk to clean up after themselves, their friends would usually help out or they'd take care of it once they could.

Are we allowed to have mini-refrigerator in our rooms? Do the live-in staff care if we do?

since kerr is known to be the "jock" dorm, is it ever known for the jocks to make it a bad place for the non jocks, or are the ppl pretty mature and cool?

random question: flippity flop, your name isn't richard is it?

the athletes are just regular people... a lot of them (big sports, like football) end up in suites and you don't have much contact with them. we had a few athletes on our floor, and they were... just people... i don't know what else to say. it's not a big deal.

and, nope, i'm not richard.
