Just sent my application stuff in today. The post office lady sounded pretty confident it would get there on time, but I’m hoping no mail-carrying planes crash or anything tomorrow.

If the 6.7% acceptance rate noted earlier in this thread is still true for this year, about 200 people will apply in all.

The effects of music therapy on emotional and behavioral development in youth. But I’d much prefer food science. There’s a food microbiology topic I’ve been interested in exploring for a year or so but haven’t got the chance to.

I was interested in the effects of loud music on drunk mice (like going to a rave) after seeing a study on how it worsened the effects of meth-using mice or something, but then thought that would be too cruel an experiment.

Although it would be super fun to try anyway :)

Was it just me or did their online form where you pasted your essay to print not print correctly? I tried it on 2 computers in all 3 browsers and nothing worked so I ended up just pasting my essays in a word document with the same header as their online form.

is there any confirmation of any sort from them after the app is received?
mine got there today, but i don’t know if i should call them to confirm it.

You should email Ms. Durham to ask for confirmation that your application has been received. She’s very punctual and should respond in a day or two.

@apoc314 i know which school u go to!!! haha it’s funny cuz we have lots of things in common such as JETS TEAMS and WYSE and NSML and ICTM! haha except i didn’t specify NSML and ICTM i just said math team. probably should’ve done that…but anyways, ur stats r a lot better than mine seems like u would make it.

oh and another thing: we’ve met technically! cuz if u go to the school i think u go to, then we were at the same WYSE regionals and i placed 2nd in chemistry!!! so we both were in the same room and saw each other go up to get the medal!!! haha wow what r the chances.
