no it has to be received by tmrw

Wow … my stats suck.

Let’s see … 228 PSAT, 34 ACT, 4.321 weighted GPA (lol), no science- or math-related APs (my school is stupid, frankly), some random volunteering here and there, some orchestras, a few clubs and a few leadership roles, scholar bowl team, etc. Recs should be solid; I wrote the narrative in an hour and I just hope it’s coherent … the prompt was vague.

I’m from <stalkers, don’t=“” you=“” have=“” something=“” better=“” to=“” do?=“”> the continental US and that’s that.</stalkers,>

I’ve been curious as to whether Ms. Durham reads this CC thread regularly. If so, she now knows who I am :P.

shucks! i just learned about this program on monday. ahhh i really like it, too! I’ll call the lady in charge and apologize… haha instructions-following is not my strong suit. oh well. perhaps one day it will avail me to remember these things…

ps: ustedes no hablaron mucho de idiomas. cual es el problema?

back to editting my narrative! >]

music: two international awards and the rest are local

two recs are fab, ive seen them both. the third one not so sure
essays/narrative are both polished and a bit on the daring side, we’ll see if it pays off

All of you guys are pretty smart. But it’s the essays that ultimately make or break the application. So with that said… good luck!

holy…
after reading these stats i have concluded that i have no chance of getting this. goshdarnit. i really wanted it, too.
oh well
you’re all brilliant
and i’m feeling dizzy
i think i’ll go lie down

p.s. meganfoxftw, you got to see your recs?! jealous

@leahmarie: dont worry - I’m sure you have good stats too. Post #265 is exaggerated.

In the end, admission is about passion, not number of awards.

SMT@UCD (i sent ms. durham an email regarding this to clarify my award), the rest is not exaggerated.
and to clarify again, i am not a top 20 chem olympiad finalist, merely a finalist = top 2 in my school!

iceui2,
Do you know last year among of 12 Clark Scholars how many were graduated from high school in 2010? Were they also RSIers previous year?

Hm, I didn’t think we were allowed to read the recs. Integrity and all that.

Leahmarie, stats aren’t everything, and mine certainly aren’t the best, too. (Am I like the only person who took the ACT?) I’m hoping my recs and essay will give a boost.

swirlz, I do go to the school that I think you are referencing, unless I’m totally wrong about which school you’re referring to. You were in the Unlimited Division at the West Chicago Regionals, right?

leahmarie, i’m right there with you! based on the two stats posted, no way i’m gonna get in…my SAT is below 2300. im planning to retake but later…

apoc314, uhh yes i think. regionals was at ur school and we had the awards thing in ur library? and technically we met today too at TEAMS. ur school got 1st…whenever i see someone from ur school i wonder if it’s u. hahaha.

guys, it’s friday and i still haven’t received the email confirmation for my letter of rec. what should i do???

Did you already email Ms. Durham? Then just wait for her to confirm it.

And yup, that sounds like my school’s regional. Although I was on our school’s D Team for JETS that tied with our C Team for 1st at the regionals (both our teams got 71/80 on the JETS multiple choice but our C Team got a tiebreaker right while we didn’t…). But apparently another school got 72 in Illinois so we didn’t get 1st in state this time.

haha that’s exactly right! wow. r u a girl or a boy? so next time we meet, i can narrow my search down. haha it’s just fun. it’s not like i’m gonna go up to everyone from ur school and be like…r u apoc314 on cc?

I’m a guy. Are you a guy or girl?

girl. r u asian? i know ur school has a lot of asians. i have a few friends who go to ur school too. btw one of our varsity teams placed second today…so if u can guess what school i’m from…oh and i saw that u guys have 8 varsity teams!!! that’s crazy…we only have 3

Yeah, I’m asian. And I know what school you’re from based on that information about your JETS varsity team placement. So…yeah. And yeah, our coach registered all teams at the 11/12 level instead of making any 9/10 teams because he could.

chaseholl + leahmarie
Apoc314 + swirlz

Wow I’m good.
