Clark Scholars 2011!

haha ok sorry.

when is everyone sending news of additional awards? iceui2, because you have experience from last year, when do you think is a good time?

what kind of awards are you guys getting??! this is ridiculous. and do non-science related awards count?

D:[/url”>http://images.cheezburger.com/completestore/2011/3/20/e0dac603-2496-4356-bda6-e608f659700f.jpg]D:

10char

Lol. NspiredOne, yes, non-science awards count. I included music stuff, science and math stuff, kung fu stuff, the works.

10char

oh gawd. ***. i hate myself

apoc314… i don’t see any way you’re not getting in, from everything you’ve been posting. sorry if that puts unnecessary pressure on you, but seriously…

Edit: it censors w t f? really?!

Awkward 10char there, Apoc314. Did you edit your post and forget to remove it? Speaking of which, yes, leahmarie, this forum is awful. It doesn’t show edits when you don’t put a reason in, it auto-censors, and you have to wait 60 seconds between posts. And there’s the stupid 10char rule.

Argh.

Oh, leahmarie, don’t hate yourself. Add yourself to the not-as-awesome-as-everyone-else-but-watch-us-get-accepted list! :)

chaseholl (no APs, Olympiads, or SAT IIs)

Aeschylus (no APs or Olympiads, either)

swirlz (no APs or Olympiads or SAT II’s)

erickkwangg (no Olympiads)

Yeah, I kind of forgot to get rid of that 10char. Seriously though, you guys don’t need to get olympiads or something like that as long as you wrote an excellent personal essay and an excellent research interests description (I probably didn’t do so well in this area).

leahmarie, thanks for the encouragement, but I’m still as nervous about this as the rest of you are about this program.

D@&^!! I forgot to mention Science Olympiad and being school mascot. No joke.
I mean, even those of you with the most impressive resumes- how many of you guys can brag about being school mascot? Not many of you right?-I though so!

Sorry, that just made me feel better about my average application.

Dr. San Fran just told me that there are almost 240 completed applications for 2011, up 30% from last year.

Question:
If I wanted to send them an update on something, what’s the way to do it? Email Dr. San Francisco?

fabulous, a 5% acceptance rate. the worst part will be having to tell the teachers who wrote my recommendations that i didn’t get in.

^^ Edit: oh god i’m so obnoxious… why don’t i think before i write?

oh wait, and my parents. lolz. preparation for next year, i suppose.

Well, it’s a good thing I got a D on that last chem test after I sent the application.

Yep.

I’m hoping my teachers won’t remember this specific program … I asked them to write recs for five programs or so. What did you write that was obnoxious?

Next year, I’m applying to stuff in December. I only started looking up programs in February … must have missed like 30 deadlines. And all the good stuff was this year, too. Sigh.

240 people?!?!? alkjdfasdfkjl. there goes my chances. they should consider increasing the amount of people who get in?

Wait, so I would like to confirm here. You CAN update your credentials and send them to Dr.San Francisco? Cuz I would really like to mention me being school mascot.

No, we don’t want you looking better than us.

Hah, yes, of course, you can definitely shoot her an email. Although if it’s only school mascot that might be a stretch–being my school’s mascot wouldn’t exactly be a Good Thing™, if you catch my drift.

5% acceptance rate = no bueno
It’s decided - I’m not getting in. Seriously, my essays were not that great.

I never read over my essays. That way, I never really know if they’re “good” or not. It also means I don’t know if I made any unfortunate typos or grammar fails.

ACK.

Wait. So does it matter if we send an email update to Ms. Durham or Dr. San Francisco? I just emailed Ms. Durham with my update, but I haven’t gotten a response, so should I send Dr. San Francisco my update then?
