i need a hug

Why!?!?!?!

just feeling a little hugless…
haha i haven’t heard back or anything, if that’s what you’re wondering.

^I don’t think any of us have heard back, unless you emailed them with a question or something

I kinda wish they would just reject me now so I can stop worrying and just go to SSP. The decision will be a lot harder if I get into both >.< (doubtful though)

To clear up any confusion, the super-duper program I described doesn’t exist. I just made up the program since I noticed others were being unfairly secretive about programs they had applied to. I just wanted to make a point to others that keeping secrets and causing jealousy on this forum isn’t friendly or a way to interact with others. I acknowledge that this is a competitive world but in the CC community we help each other succeed.

Sorry though, if I caused any confusion- I didn’t mean to harm anyone.

Actually, it’s not out of giving you guys a edge but its due to the fact that you guys wouldn’t be able to register at all, your school has to be a participant… not just you. If i told you the program it would do you absolutely no good and it would reveal my location and my identity… I believe the previous accusatory comments to be extremely rude and without merit. I am not here to be secretive, i am here to be part of a cohesive and helping community but if it comes to revealing something that would not be beneficial to anyone on this board and detrimental to me, i have the right to withhold that and you should respect that. That was a cruel joke you played and you in fact seem to be the only one that is “jealous”. It certainly wasn’t representative of the general atmosphere of CC…

guys, guys!! hugs all around! we’re all lovely people and will do just fine in life, i’m sure.
hugggzzzzzz

I second leahmarie, hugs to everyone- even you NspiredOne although I wasn’t specifically referring to you. But really, I believe your tirade was unneeded. I apologized, took full responsibility, and even said that I didn’t mean harm (or insult) to anyone. I understand that you are probably stressed out because of all this, but if you deem it necessary to scold someone who has already taken fault then I won’t blame you.

Hugs for all!
All for hugs!

It’s never good to disrupt a thread to make a point (wish CC had a policy about that, but interestingly enough, [Wikipedia does](Wikipedia:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point - Wikipedia)!), but what’s done is done. Let’s keep this thread on-topic, now–back to talking about Clark!

/End CONVO…I will be the bigger man.

OK, let’s not use “libelous” when it’s not warranted, or attack people back … seriously, y’all are taking this too seriously.

chaseholl: Wow, I didn’t know wikipedia had that rule, interesting though.

Just curious, of everyone who has applied to Clarks how many of you guys have approached researchers at your local university?

To whodareswins: Well, I did try to approach professors at my local university. I was lucky enough to get two responses…but both weren’t conducting research this year unfortunately although they had been the past decade. So I’m still waiting on my Fermilab internship program and this since I’m out of the running for the ACS summer research in Illinois program.

Ooh, Fermilab sounds kinda hard to get into- good luck there. Yeah, it’s always a great idea to ask local researchers. You can continue doing research beyond the summer and even year round. I’ve emailed and called countless researchers at my university but everyone is nervous about having a high school student in their lab (that or they’re busy). But that’s just because my university has been under fire before for certain high school research it condoned- now they are very restrictive, which is sad. I just asked to find out how other universities are.

@whodareswins: I’ve been working at a university since August. State science fair just ended today! I really want to spend the summer out of state though, but still doing something academic - that’s why Clarks is perfect for me. Also, I was born in Texas but didn’t live there for long, so I’d like to go back “home” and see what it’s really like. :)

batfan: That’s cool! State science fair ended last week for us. Did you make ISEF? It really seems like Clarks suits you well. But it’s great that you’ve been working at univ., there’s a lot to learn. I’m going try to intern at some national labs, hopefully I’ll have better luck there, haha.

Guys, my suggestion is for you to go away and come back in a few weeks when results are out. Either that, or become like the old TASP threads and go waaaay off-topic. :P

sooooo AP exams anybody?

@whodareswins, I qualified for ISEF straight from our regional fair; pretty excited! Did you make it?

@proletariat2, that’s pretty much what’s going to happen to me.
With AP tests and FBLA trips and ISEF, I’ll be busy for so much of the next month. Ahhh I wish they could just zip through the apps and tell us soon!
