Clark Scholars 2011!

Can Clark even be compared to RSI, or is RSI in a league of its own?

I think they’re structured somewhat differently, but Clark’s “prestige” factor is certainly close to that of RSI.

Gaaahhhh I hate waiting. I’m applying to some local internships/research opportunities in the meantime.

@browndbaternerd I have to make at least one reference per week to Born This Way. I mean, how can you not?

The list… :O

@karaoke… Can’t argue there. But it’s becoming a problem for me when I start referencing Friday…

Hot **** that list is ridiculous… I don’t think I know that many people who got into those types of schools period, let alone all in one place (then again, that might be because I go to a public school where everyone goes to the state university system…)

Any idea how much the app rate went up? i’m dieing to know

They received (per [this](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/summer-programs/1052104-clark-scholars-2011-a-28.html)) 240 applications this year, 30% more than last year.

i haven’t got anything, but friend also applying got a rejection letter today.
i think that would be the first wave. keep your ears open! =D

the next two week is gonna be march madness replay =__= (april madness? lol)

This and HSHSP at the same time? Great…

Did not need to see that.

Now I’m freaking out again …

did they get it by email or post?

So is that by mail or email? I recall Ms. Durham saying that she would be sending rejections via email and that acceptees would hear from Dr. San Francisco via phone.

batfan, I think you’re right. Didn’t they do semifinalist emails last year too?

i think it was by e-mail.

phone? what if no one picks up? i’m notoriously good at forgetting where i put my cellphone (and not picking them up) =_______= everything by e-mail would be much nicer IMO.

Rejection letters! My application wasn’t too strong but I’m still nervous now. Maybe it would help if I never check my email. :P

Good luck you guys, I hope we don’t get “shot down” with ejection emails.

I find it weird that only one person we know of was rejected so far. Brings back (awful) memories of waiting for rsi.

Good luck everyone!!!

Hmm, it IS a bit strange that only one person has been rejected so far, like ender94 said. Maybe we’re all just super qualified. I thought Ms. Durham also said that we won’t hear anything until the end of April though?

I have a feeling that they might be doing it in waves this year. I think there were about ~17 applicants from CC. Maybe we all made semi? crosses fingers

@browndbaternerd - No news is good news, I hope! Ms. Durham said there would be cuts, so maybe they are doing waves this year. Is there an official acceptance date? I couldn’t find one on their website.

I looked back and saw we had a list of 19 applicants on here. However I do not know how many are active right now.

I agree, no news is good news. But do not get your hopes up too high. RSI similarly sent out their rejects first and as I did not get an email I was excited. Not until 2 days later (after some letters had been received by accepted people) did they bother sending me an email about me being rejected (if you did not notice I am still very bitter about this). I only say this to make sure other people do not go through a similar disappointment.
