did everyone get the “second evaluation” email?

chokolatte: I’m afraid to say that most people did get the “second evaluation” email-I was the first to actually ask this. I hope you didn’t make the same mistake as I did and think that you were special since you were “seriously considered in the second evaluation”. It’s o.k., I guess we’re ALL special then. =P

“It’s o.k., I guess we’re ALL special then. =P”

You’re all special in my eyes

In all seriousness, even applying for Clark shows what awesome, dedicated, and passionate students you are. You will do fantastic, great, and special things-- so that email wasn’t patronizing you to make you feel less unique, but reminding you that you deserved serious consideration because of your numerous accomplishments!

Just out of curiosity, what is everyone, who didn’t make Clark, planning to do for summer? I’m still trying to find a lab to take me at my local university for some research, but if that fails then I will try to get a job.

Thanks gregariously!

Apoc314: I’m probably going to get a job and take come summer college classes.

@Apoc314, I’ve applied to some research internships similar to Clarks. I may continue doing research at the lab I’m working in…or I might just get a job. I’ve always wanted to work at Ann Taylor Loft haha. I don’t think I’m old enough to though…:(

wait batfan you’re a girl?

If my luck in this process doesn’t continue, I’m going to work t McDonalds and at a state lab alongside hanging out with my friends before college starts in the fall.

… and this is why CC needs a better gender thing, lest we all start referring to each other by xe/xyr.

Hey, I’ve always wanted to work at Ann Taylor Loft, too.

OK, no I haven’t :P.

Got cut today, so stay on guard for more decisions. GL everyone!

Rejected… the email said my app was considered for a “second evaluation,” whatever that means

@NspiredOne, yup, I’m a girl! I’m guessing you assumed I was a guy because of my username?
I am such a big fan of comic book movies though, probably more so than any of my guy friends.

@ChaseHoll, now that I think about it, I’ve never seen any male sales associates at Loft…but then again, I’ve never seen any guys at Victoria’s Secret either…no surprise haha.

Still nothing :/

Dang first RSI holds out on me and now clark… I hope its a good sign if not for this year than for next year.

I really wish my house phone told me if I had missed any calls.

nothing either

@meganfoxftw- did you ever get into SIMR/RSI? I remember seeing you in one of those chats

SIMR, didn’t apply to RSI. I already accepted SIMR, but housing is really hard to find around Palo Alto. If I get into Clarks, I will have to rethink it over, although I am 80% sure I am sticking with SIMR…

@batfan, I’ve never seen a guy at Victoria’s Secrets either but apparently the boys’ soccer coach at my school works there. so maybe some guys do work at Loft XD

rejected from everywhere i applied woohooo! i e-mailed one postdoc and one professor at UCLA today. see if i can get an internship =]

@meganfoxftw- Congrats on SIMR, I was rejected
I have a similar case where I have accepted another program about a month ago because I did not want to bank on Clark. However, if I am accepted to Clark (wishes hopefully), I will have to really think it over. I am trying not to think about it unless I have to.

@momo899, haha that would be so awkward for girls shopping at VS; at least, I would think so. I was rejected to TASP, MITES, and Clarks - everywhere that I’ve applied that’s released decisions so far. I hope your internship works out; it’s a really valuable experience. It’s tough working at a lab during the school year but even so, it’s really worth it.

@batfan Could you imagine a girl going up to a male associate at VS to ask a question? Haha

It’s COSMOS for me, I guess. And hopefully a little research with this Stanford researcher I met over the weekend :)
