Clark Scholars 2011!

i haven’t gotten anything yet…i probably didn’t make it :(

omg congratz iluvcake and meaganfoxftw!!! u guys must have amazing qualifications/applications. i wish i were u guys! haha…but all is good. i’m going to hshsp.

icecream1, u haven’t gotten the rejection mail sooo…don’t lose hope!

WOW! Congrats to meganfoxftw and iluvcake! I have nothing from Clark :frowning: They must be offering their rejections and acceptances in stages. Must.Be.Patient.

@iceui2: Umm… YES. You better be serious…

@ender94: They do leave messages! I was at a party when I missed Dr. SanFran’s call… multiple times… yikes.

@iluvcake, meganfoxftw, and anyone else who may receive happy Clark-related news soon: PM me your names so we, the 2010 Clarkies, can creep you and add you to the group we have created for you (It’s tradition… The 2009 Clarkies did it for us, and now we will do the same for you. Be prepared to be flooded by awesome.)

@Those not accepted: Find my message from before, and realize I mean it sincerely. Not going to Clark does not make you a weaker candidate, or less of a person. It’s 12 people. Stay passionate, stay optimistic, and stay open to all the opportunities that are before you :)

iluvcake and meganfoxftw, epic congrats :)

sigh … wonder when I’ll hear anything. trying to stay hopeful, or at least distracting myself with rewriting my English paper due tomorrow :P

I second this. As a 2009 Clarkie, I would like to stalk you guys too!

iluvcake and meganfoxftw, run!

So…for those of us who have not heard either way from Clark–what should we be thinking by now?

Think positive? Last year, they sent out acceptances over 2 days so I am hoping there are still more to come today.

I would make sure you have a backup program though.

Thanks ender94. I have three back-up programs…2 very strong of the 3, plus alternate at RSI–which I am not depending on! Even if I am lucky enough to get into Clark, I will still need to think about which program is the best fit and which I will get the most out of. Clark looks so awesome and the people who have attended seem to uniformly laud their experience. Seems as though the participants each year are, and remain, very close-knit.

::Crosses fingers::

I am in a similar situation. I have a good back up that I am already committed to but Clark seems very appeal so I too would need to think it over.

Anyways, any news today? I have still received nothing.

Also did not receive anything :confused:
I keep refreshing my e-mail to no avail, lol.

same here lol - i bet they already contacted the actual 12 people, and we are all alternates ;(

@icecream

Why would you say that? It seems simplest to alert all of the alternates before or at the same time as the attendees. In fact, I think the hold up could be that they are probably trying to assign mentors. Certainly some of us will become alternates f they cannot find a mentor. But be positive!

It WOULD be kind of a sad twist if we were the 3 out of the 15 that didn’t get selected…
x___x
But at least it’s not over until we get an official decision from them :)

Still nothing from Clark. Odd, since others got rejections and acceptances days ago. Guess I’ll decide between the definite offers I have now. Feel like I have to decide, commit and move on so I have something solid arranged. Oh well. Seemed like an opportunity choice…especially with the stipend…and I was hoping to go. Not sure how we all fell through the proverbial cracks…but seems as though we have. I am grateful that I have other options.

@ '10 Clarkies- how many students do you have in your group for this year’s students? By that I mean do you know how many people they have accepted?

@boredinschool, why don’t you give them a call/email and ask? Don’t give up just yet!

@boredinschool: Haven’t heard from Clark? Well then you should be thinking of fun things to do while you wait, silly! I suggest a movie. Or be like me and be at prom when the call or email comes. Whatever you do, don’t worry about it. Worrying doesn’t make it come any faster :wink:

And I wouldn’t jump to conclusions. There are a few people working with a lot of Clark applicants, plus the jobs they normally hold are also very busy. I’d be patient.

@icecream1: How optimistic of you :stuck_out_tongue: We the 2010 Clarkies only know of 2 Clark Scholars, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves, okay? ;)

@marscapone: I like your positive spin on that :)

@ender94: We only have one so far that has been courageous enough to friend me on facebook, haha. But I’ve been talking to Ms. Durham and Dr. SanFran anyway lately, so I’ll be sure to ask as discretely (or not) as possible to help pacify all of you if you all promise to not worry too much until then… ok? Ok :)

@gregarious: omg that would be… GODSEND if you could get info from them. But meanwhile, time to distract myself with intensive AP studying! YAY! not.
