Lucky! I’ve got 4 to go (and physics is going to killll me because our class has four more chapters to cover in 2 class periods haha. and one of them is optics!).

Yeah that royally sucks! Sorry about that
I thought about applying to RSI but I didn’t really feel like writing essays lol. I only applied to CS because they had an ansci research niche. I really wasn’t expecting to get even to the SF round because I threw together my essay right before it was due and I got my main rec letter from my Latin teacher (didn’t choose languages for first or second choice!). But now that I’ve gotten this far, I’m kind of itching to go.

I’m with ya- if we both don’t hear by Monday, let me know what you find out!
In case you didn’t know, Gmail has notification enabler, by the way, so it pops up whenever you get a new email and you don’t have to obsessively refresh. :)

Congrats icecream1! Six CCers … gregariously, proletariat, iceui, any idea on how many CCers were accepted to Clark Scholars last year or the year before?

Add my daughter to the list of those who haven’t heard anything yet. We are having to make plans for the other program she has been accepted to, so it will be nice to hear either way soon.

Congrats to all who have been accepted. It will be an amazing opportunity.

@chaseholl: They actually asked us that last year when we were down there, and most people heard of the program either through here or the MIT admissions blogpost, or both, even though not very many were frequent posters (I fall into that category).

So much for my perfect plan of everyone on CC was either already rejected or will be accepted (but really we all knew it was a stretch).

@badass- people who were accepted heard by both I think. Rejections were sent a couple weeks ago by email to some.

It looks like there are now 8 people on here who have heard nothing. I feel like at this point we did not make it or are alternates. Tomorrow is the final day they said we would know by so it may be a big day (or just another day). Good luck everyone still waiting!!

“It was a very difficult selection process this year and although your application was seriously considered in a third evaluation your application was not selected.”

Damn. Oh well, I’m still waiting for a few other programs.

Chaseholl, I was routing for you! Sorry. My daughter got the same e-mail today. In some ways it makes it less stressful since she was already making plans to attend another program. I think the fact that you all made it to the last round means your applications were competitive.

Thanks pamayawaa, and unfortunate that ender94, your daughter, and I were rejected, but hey–looks like we’ve all got other plans, too.

Apply next year? Maybe if I can get by using approximately the same essays :). (Actually, scratch that, I’m going to end up with a B in chemistry this semester, which isn’t really a good sign for a science program.)
