<p>Hello all my daughter will be attending Penn State in the fall and I am just as excited as she is. Are there any other parents on here who has a child going to penn in the fall?</p>
<p>Hi Dad1974, welcome to CC! First lesson. Learn to say PSU or Penn State (Pennsylvania State University) not Penn. Penn (University of Pennsylvania) is in Philadelphia. :)</p>
<p>DH, S1 and I are all alumni. University Park campus? Take in a visit and enjoy all of the things that are available there. Football weekends are like a circus but she might like the experience. DD loves going to the games with us even though it is not her school. </p>
<p>Join a group doing something she likes to do. Make the university smaller that way. It is easy to get lost and get off track if advising is not good. Have her stay on top of course selections and degree requirements. </p>

<p>Congrats to your daughter. You are both in for an exciting four yrs! My son just finished up. What amazes me the most is all the various accomplishments the students managed after spending 4 years at PSU. The sky is the limit!</p>

<p>Minor correction, informally it can be PSU, or Penn State but it is never Pennsylvania State University it is always The Pennsylvania State University.</p>

<p>The link that singersmom07 posted was very informative.Thanks for the congrats all and congrats to you all as well for your students achievements. Do anyone know the whether or not it is difficult for parents to purchase tickets to PSU football games?</p>
