Well, I go to public school. I don't think we ever have anyone clear the 2300 mark, and if we do, it's one or two every few years.

I think our highest PSAT score was 225 or somewhere around there, in my class.

Ahh, my school's insane. The day I heard my SAT score, other people were coming up to me and telling me their ridiculously amazing scores. My friends had a 2390, 2380, 2360, 2310, 2340, and 2300. No joke. I was like AHHH WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS?! Definitely not a confidence booster for me that day.

are we supposed to know who mary masterson is from that guys post?? our school hasn't had above a 2300 in 9 years... lol. but i'm workin on it. i got a 2210 in november, and i just took the june...crossing my fingers

oo.. i don't think anyone in our class broke 2300 (303 ppl total)... i got 2290 (so close!) and my friend got 2260, that's all that's above 2200 i guess

I go to public school, but it's unusually academically focused.

3 2400's for the class of '08, one of whom is me.
2 2390's, and about 20 people in the low- to mid-2300's.

Not entirely sure--got a 2400 myself, so that makes 1 :D. Besides that, I know of two with >1500 out of 1600, but I'm not sure how they did on writing. (The fact that they specifically said their scores out of 1600 makes me wonder lol)

hmm... 2?

My friend-2330
Me-2400

tis all good

danggg congrats guys! what did all of you guys do to get these scores? what books do you guys suggest? what word lists? thanks

I go to the largest high school in the state of ohio, Fairfield HIgh School. In a class of about 800 we had
1 2400 me :)
1 2390
1 2240
1 2190
about 3-4 2170 and lower to 2100

like lildude's school we're more of an ACT school with
1 35 me again :)
5-6 34 or maybe even more
and a whole bunch of 31+

It's funny how all the "new members" have 2400s....lol, i don't believe you.

We haven't had anyone break 2300 yet. I have 2200, and two of my friends have 2200 and 2230. That's about it for 2200+ (I basically know everyone's scores in my class- only 110 kids or so).

It's funny because, previous to the SAT, no one even knew that the kid with the 2230 was even smart at all. He is probably just barely in the top 25% of our class, and he always acts stupid. Every time i see him now, I just call him "closet genius."

out of a class of 30, we had 2 2300+s (2330 and 2320). I think we also had 2 2200+s (both 2270s), a 2190 (me, argh!), and a 2180. After that I'm not sure

hahaha closet genius

To sheed30 who criticized the new members, not to start anything, but don't you think it's possible that we began to become more interested in the college search (hence joining CC) when we got said 2400s? Just a thought.

I think sheed30 is just joking... ^^;;

But it is understandable that new members become more interested after getting decent test scores... that's why I signed up after I got 2400.

How would you think colleges would view an applicant with a 2400 and great (700-800) subject test scores with a rather average GPA and few extra curriculars?

Do you think the applicant would have a shot at any good southern universities like Duke, UNC, or Vanderbilt?

Replying to post #36, some colleges would think that's a GREAT profile and would offer merit scholarships, while other colleges might not offer admission for "a rather average GPA and few extracurriculars." Apply widely and see where admission is offered, and where the overall financial package offers best value.

Responding to post #37.

2.9 UW in Juinor Year and 3.4 UW including senior year to be specific. It was positive because it was an amazing upward trend, starting with C-'s, and an F freshman year to straight A+'s in a full IB schedule senior year.

I just wanted a suggestion or two informing me on schools that put a large emphasis on an applicant like myself.

2 2400's, and 7 others above 2300. i'm hoping to join the 2300+ crew once june scores come out.

320 students, public school. we're considered an exceptionally smart class...

Affle, it was a joke...chill out....
