ok, so I know P'ton is undergoing an effort to increase its TOTAL undergrad. student body by about 500. So shouldn't it be increasing the number of ED acceptances this year?

I keep hearing that because this is the last year of the ED option, they might take less ED applicants. HOW does this make sense?

Does anyone really know/have an opinion on this subject? would they INCREASE ED acceptances or DECREASE them?

I don't think this is true. I just don't see why you need to "practice" doing something like that...

I think the increase in the number of ED applicants and the need to increase the student body will kind of cancel out and pretty much keep the number even.

Ah, but it's 500 over the course of SIX years, not just this year (two of those years gone already, this is the third), so I'd suspect the acceptance rate this year will be roughly the same as last year for the ED side; RD will more than likely go down a decent bit, given that this will be prime "testing" period for next year's all-RD admissions, so waitlist may be used.

I don't think they're gonna use a waitlist if they didn't say they were going to. I think they'll do it the same as last year, which is hard enough for either round.
