Class 2021 -AES Award Notifications?

@rahul2907, I do believe you need to accept the admittance first and then the AES award. You do have until May 1st to do that. They do say the May 1 deadline is a hard deadline, so I wouldn’t wait that long.

@Diw2000 That is absurd. How are you supposed to submit your final grades before you graduate? That is not the actual reason you didn’t get the AES.

The date thing is just a bug. You’ll find plenty of bugs in the Galaxy portal.

Just a couple more weeks.

Hello Everybody. My school grades are not so good because I come from a small town in India and my high school is very tough(percentage is in 75) but my 10th board and predicted 12th board results are good. I have been accepted but I want the aes distinction award. Will I be at a disadvantage due to my high school grades (school doesn’t even rank). Sat is 1470

@GoodguyApratim They don’t require school grades or predicted board results. It will depend on other factors.

But I did send them. Will it have an adverse effect. Will it be taken into account or will it be ignored

@GoodguyApratim Your predicted marks should be fine. Your school grades might have an “adverse effect”. You should email the AES office.

Bad news… They will consider it. @Diw2000 did you get any update on your AES

@rahul2907 1 more question bro. Did you send unofficial documents(through email) or did you send the official ones(mailed them)

@mundanewarrior Bro I visited the UTD site and it’s written that 10th and 12th board marks are an additional requirement. High school transcript is required for both domestic and international. @Diw2000 maybe you didn’t get the scholarship due not submitting your high school transcript

@GoodguyApratim
Where exactly does it say “additional”? A link/screenshot would be nice.

This is from the international freshman requirements site (https://www.utdallas.edu/enroll/freshman/international-freshman/):

The reference sheet PDF shows the actual requirement by country (https://www.utdallas.edu/enroll/files/required-credentials-for-freshman-admission.pdf):

And I also emailed them in November to clarify the requirement because I was confused myself. They didn’t say anything about the 9-12 grades transcripts. Here’s what they told me:

But I don’t want to take any chances, so I emailed the AES office to be sure. I will update this thread once I get a response.

And I think it would be nice if those who received the AES could elucidate on their experiences.

@ChampBoy @rahul2907 Did you submit transcripts from 9-12 grades or just 10th board?

@mundanewarrior Do not submit ur 9th n 11th transcripts even if u have just 1 bad grade in it,it will have a negative impact.I just submitted my 10th n 12th Transcript.

@ChampBoy That makes sense. But I emailed them just in case.

This guy got me worried:

@mundanewarrior If you are in 12th right now,I’m not sure if u need to send in ur 11th transcript,I will advice u not too though.

It is clearly stated in the galaxy portal that we need to submit only class 10th and 12th mark sheets.

@mundanewarrior the link is the same one(https://www.utdallas.edu/enroll/freshman/international-freshman/). Read the very first line. “In addition to the requirements for freshmen and transfer applicants, some additional steps are listed below for students who have attended a secondary or post-secondary institution outside of the U.S.” You see there it’s written “In addition to”

But if @rahul2907 got his decision on the basis of 10th and 12th only then I’m sure school examination grades are not required. Btw guys I have another query. Have you guys sent unofficial documents to UTD(through email) or the official ones(in sealed envelopes)

I only sent my 10th marksheet in a sealed envelope and I confirmed that i only need to send 10th marksheet from the admissions office.

@GoodguyApratim
Looks like you were making a big fuss about nothing. And you still are. Doesn’t matter whether you submit official or unofficial (though I submitted the former).

You’ve completed your application. Nothing you can do about it now. Calm down. Even log off.

@mundanewarrior Sorry but I just wanted to confirm what was right and ensure whoever reads this post gets gets the correct info(especially after @Diw2000 case I was a bit concerned). As far as the second part is concerned I have submitted unofficial documents as I intend to send the official ones as soon as I get my 12th board results(everything at once) but I am not sure if the AES committee would consider my application on the basis of unofficial documents so I asked
